CBA - LEGAL CONFERENCE 2007 AT TELUS CONVENTION CENTRE, CALGARY ALBERTA
We attended the CBA Legal Conference in Calgary this summer as an exhibitor, showcasing your company, and handed out hundreds of directories to law firms practising in civil , criminal and family law. The main focus at this year's conference was labour relations, and these topics were well received and reported in the news across the country. We had a wonderful reception and met many of our clients, as well as new legal and business friends from across the country. This made a very enjoyable time for us!
As well as attending the conference, we visited with Randy from Calgary Document Service, whom we found to be a person on the go - and a true legal support professional. We were told that Canada's Legal Support Directory is used extensively there. We also placed our directory into family law offices and government service offices on our travels from British Columbia to Alberta.
The highlight of our road trip to Calgary was meeting with Donna Spear of Chase Process Service. Donna, at 78, is called when a service is required in the BC back country! We were just sorry that we missed Gary Granoff serving the Kamloops area. And while at the conference we were pleasantly surprised to meet Bruce from KVP Registry Service and, as always, Canadian Process Serving.
Afterwards, there was some time to see Calgary's beautiful center, visit Heritage Park and other land marks such as the Calgary Zoo. Calgary was hot and dry, but a nightly breeze kept us from becoming too hot, as west coasters. Calgary has a lot to offer visitors, with great outdoor sculptures everywhere including metal horses and "holy" cows and of course the great skyline, always unique with the Calgary Tower being seen from every vantage point, even though some buildings irreverantly top its size now.
Since our return, we have heard from Ontario to Edmonton and across the country regarding business. One new focus for us this term, is to include more companies from Alberta, Quebec and the United States in our directory services. With your continued support and business we will realize continued growth and development. More news in our next newsletter for Fall / Winter 2007. Thank you all once more.
